Chapter 9: Transformational Leadership

Chapter 9 – Transformational Leadership is one of the current and most popular approaches to leadership and has been the focus of much research since the early 1980’s. This form of leadership changes and transforms people and is concerned with emotions, values, ethics, standards and long term goals. Two types of leadership are discussed in this chapter: transactional and transformational where transactional focuses on the exchanges that occur between leaders and their followers versus transformational is the process whereby a person engages with others and creates a connection that raises the level of motivation and morality in both the leader and the follower.
